Tata Altroz: Tata Motors, the Indian automaker, has begun accepting bookings for the upcoming Tata Altroz CNG, with a starting price of Rs 21,000. The premium hatchback will be offered in six CNG variants, spread across four trims – XE, XM+, XZ, and XZ+. Deliveries of the Altroz CNG will begin in May 2023. Ahead of its market arrival, the brochure scan has been leaked online, revealing feature details that confirm the three variants of the Altroz CNG will be offered with an electric sunroof with voice assist.

Apart from the electric sunroof, the Altroz CNG will come loaded with features like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 4 speakers, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a 4-inch digital instrument cluster with steering-mounted controls, voice assist, What3Words navigation, remote keyless entry, central locking, front and rear USB sockets, and electric foldable ORVMs.

The range-topping XZ+ variant of the Altroz CNG comes with some exclusive goodies, including an 8-speaker audio system, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, brake sway control, wireless charger, connected car tech with remote vehicle control via smartphone, height-adjustable front seat belts, leather seats, an air purifier, a rearview camera with dynamic guideways, a rear fog lamp, auto headlamps, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

Powering the Tata Altroz CNG is the 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine paired with a factory-fitted CNG dual-cylinder setup that’s placed under the boot floor. The setup delivers a claimed power of 84 bhp and 113 Nm of torque. The gasoline unit alone produces a maximum power of 76 bhp and 103 Nm of torque. Similar to the Tiago and Tigor CNG versions, the Altroz CNG is expected to deliver a fuel efficiency of 26.49 km/kg.

Compared to their standard petrol counterparts, the Altroz CNG is expected to cost around Rs 90,000 premium. Tata will also introduce the Punch CNG in the coming months. Showcased at this year’s Auto Expo, the model will come with the same powertrain setup as the Altroz CNG.

The new Tata Altroz CNG is expected to be a game-changer in the premium hatchback segment. The Altroz has already been well received in the Indian market, with its premium design and features. The CNG variant will further enhance its appeal to customers looking for an eco-friendly and cost-effective option.

Tata Motors has been at the forefront of introducing CNG variants of its popular models in the Indian market, catering to the growing demand for eco-friendly vehicles. With the new Altroz CNG, Tata is expected to strengthen its position in the segment and further boost its sales figures in the coming months. The Altroz CNG will compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20, and Honda Jazz in the Indian market.
